At the Rotary Club of Oliver meeting on Tuesday night, a cheque was presented to World Neighbours Canada. Brian Goy, President of the club, far left, and International Director, Russell Work made the presentation at the end of a well received and informative talk by Suresh Shrestha from Nepal, to Dale Dodge, one of the directors of the World Neighbours Society.
Suresh is out to receive an International Leadership award for his efforts in Nepal, managing the projects sponsored by World Neighbours.
The club is pleased to support World Neighbours as part of its international mandate. By partnering, the donation will be multiplied six times and go along way to assisting with construction of water distribution systems and toilets. These are some of the funds raised at the Rotary auction and it is
gratifying to be able to support a locally based society with proven international projects and oversight.
A reminder that there is a public presentation on Nepal, the work being done there, and an update on the
earthquakes of this spring – at Christ the King Church at 7 pm Wednesday, Sept 23. All welcome, no charge.
Thanks to Russell Work and Dale Dodge for this item
