Does your family know where you keep your deeds, loan information, bank accounts, automatic payments, investments and other important financial information? What are your wishes for a celebration of life? Who should be contacted in the event of your passing?
The ‘Just in Case’ Planning Workshop will help you prepare and organize your affairs to assist your family, friends and executor through the process of settling your estate. “This workshop is designed to help people with the daunting task of life and death planning” says Aaron McRann, Executive Director of Community Foundation of the South Okanagan-Similkameen. The workshop and planning guide were first developed
in Saskatoon by Harold Empey. In collaboration with the Saskatoon Foundation, Mr. Empey has made over 200 presentations and sold more than 7000 planning guides.
A ‘Just in Case’ planning guide will be available for purchase at the event to help organize major tasks that need to be addressed when planning your estate. The 32 page planning guide is a zip up binder that provides a storage place for all the information relevant to a person’s life. There are 12 sections in the binder, all with background information, questions, and mental prompts to help people gather important information and urge them to speak with their advisors about proper planning.
