The air quality level right now in the Kelowna area is 220 µg/m3 (micrograms per cubic metre), compared to the acceptable limit which is 25 µg/m3. In fact, the average concentration over the last 24 hours was 307 µg/m3.
“It is very smoky, the air quality is very poor,” states Environment Canada. “That average is 12 times the acceptable limit for fine particulate matter.”

At the pool
Due to smoky conditions the following changes will be made to the Oliver Pool Schedule:
Senior and Adult Aqua Fit Classes will be suspended until further notice.
The 6:30-8:00pm Public Swim will be cancelled on Monday, August 24th.
All other programs and swims will continue as scheduled.
