The time has gone by so fast! Being an Oliver Ambassador has been an incredible experience for all of us! From volunteering to visiting other BC communities, we have learned so much. Qualities such as public speaking, standing with poise and confidence and waving like royalty in parades is something that we will remember for the rest of our lives.
Thank you to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #97, Oliver Kiwanis Club, and the Oliver Lions & Lionesses for being our candidacy sponsors. Thanks also to the program sponsors for our reign: Oliver Elks Lodge, and Oliver Rotary Club. Your moral and financial support has been so helpful! We would like to acknowledge the Town of Oliver and Regional District of Similkameen for their continued support. Thank you to Scott and Joanne Schaffrick, Lisa Kunz, Rachel Allenbrand, and Marji Basso for providing workshops and guiding us throughout our candidacy. We are so thankful for the Oliver Fire Department, the South Okanagan General Health Care Auxiliary, and School District #53 for supporting the program. Thank you to the Oliver Chronicle and Oliver Daily News for covering our events so positively! We’d like to thank Mayor Hovanes for always making the time to come to our events, and making us feel welcome wherever we go.
This year would not have been possible without Lori Martine. She keeps us on track for volunteering, pageants and fundraisers. A big thank to Lori for everything she has done for us!
We are looking forward to crowning our successors as the new Oliver Ambassador Team on Saturday, August 22nd, at 6:30 p.m. at the Frank Venables Theatre. We hope that they will enjoy their reigning year as much as we have and we know that they will represent our community with pride and dignity.
2014/2015 Ambassador Team: Simi Mand, Anastasia Levant and Kaylee Lesmeister
