PENTICTON – Tourism Penticton is pleased to announce the appointment of Kelly Hopkins to the position of Executive Director. Over the next couple of months Hopkins will be working alongside current Executive Director, Chris Bower to ensure a smooth transition into her new role.
“After a rigorous interview process the Board of Directors was unanimous in a decision to offer the Executive Director position to Kelly and we are confident that she will be a tremendous asset to the team and a major contributor to the future success of Tourism Penticton,” said Jessica Agur, Vice Chair of Tourism Penticton.
Hopkins is excited by the challenges of the new role and hopes to build on this year’s successful Tourism Penticton programs, such as the launching of the direct WestJet flight from Calgary, the launch of the mobile Visitor Center, the creation of the South-Okanagan Similkameen Cycling Guide and the new Event/Sport Development program.
Taking over the reins poses no problem for Hopkins who has a wealth of experience in marketing and events management and has already built solid relationships with local suppliers and sponsors during her time with Challenge Penticton and Recreation Penticton.
