Letter to Anarchist Mtn. Fire Department
I am pleased to let you know that we have received a formal response from Urs Grob indicating his acceptance for the position of Fire Chief. Urs will start his new role on Wednesday August 12th.
It was apparent from all the candidates that there are a number of qualified and dedicated individuals volunteering and supporting the Anarchist Mountain Fire Department.
We are very hopeful that the members of the fire department and the community will rally behind the new Chief in… order to make the service as strong as possible. As always, the RDOS Board and staff are here to support the fire department in any way that we can.
Please feel free to share this information with the fire department membership as you see fit. The RDOS will issue a formal press release later this week.
The Regional District would also like to thank Mr. Rob Burke for serving as Fire Chief for the past 4 years. Through Mr. Burke’s leadership the AMFD has updated its fire fighter training program, upgraded essential equipment and implemented a medical first responder program.
Two key success drivers for the Regional District are to be a high performing organization and to build sustainable communities. The provision of safe and efficient fire and emergency services through community run fire departments is important to the high quality of life within our service area.
The AMFD is one of seven RDOS operated Fire Departments involving over 150 dedicated community members that manage and operate fire departments within the Regional District.
