On 2015-08-03 at 04:31hrs a neighbour who lives near Tickleberries Ice Cream shop in Okanagan Falls called the Penticton RCMP to report a break in at the shop. Caller was woken up by a loud noise and the audible alarm sounding. When they looked outside a vehicle had backed into the shop, knocking out a door and wall. One person was seen going inside-no description obtained. The person got back into the vehicle and departed South on Hwy 97. Vehicle may have been a dark coloured explorer. Oliver RCMP members advised. Police attended and cleared the business. There was broken tinted glass at the scene suggesting the vehicles rear window got smashed out. A safe was targeted but no entry gained to the safe. Thousands of dollars in damage caused by the vehicle but nothing else disturbed. Nothing taken. Surveillance video on-site. FIS requested to attend to process scene. This matter is still under investigation
In SUMMERLAND vehicle ramming break and enters 4x.
Pharmasave, Summerland Golf Club, Kettle Valley Steam Train and Sumac Ridge Winery all hit causing extensive damage to the buildings. Suspects were driving a large 4×4 pickup, dark colour (possibly grey) with a red Tidy Tank visible in the box. Vehicle failed to stop for Police, last seen leaving downtown after Sumac Ridge B&E. Vehicle will have extensive damage. Suspects stole a number of golf clubs and drivers. Members from Penticton assisted with road checks and patrols, but the vehicle was not located.
