We are extremely grateful to the Oliver Fire Dept. and the Willowbrook
Fire Dept. for their efforts in battling the blaze here last week. The
quick response from both fire halls saved the buildings in the path of
the wind driven flames and prevented the fire from spreading onto the
east side of Willowbrook Road and more homes.
Volunteers made a tremendous effort Monday night when the fire
started with many working all night and into Tuesday. They not only
dealt with the fire but provided traffic control and assisted in
evacuation of livestock and pets from the neighbouring homes.
Many of the volunteers continued to work on the fire along with the
Forestry crews during the week. We cannot thank them enough for
their time and efforts.
