Earlier this morning, July 22, (Wednesday), the Oliver RCMP located and recovered Ronald Teneycke’s vehicle on a local Forest Service Road in a rural area of Oliver.
At that time, it was believed that Teneycke was still in the immediate area. Since it is alleged that Teneycke had committed an Armed Robbery just days earlier in Oliver, police believe him to be armed and dangerous so they called in the South East District Emergency Response Team to assist in a ground search for him.
Around 11:30 a.m., the Oliver RCMP learned that and individual picked up whom they thought was a hitch-hiker on the Baldy Mountain Forest Service Road. The individual allegedly assaulted the driver with a weapon and stole the owners 1999 White ¾ ton GMC pick-up bearing BC licence plate 7621 GG with “Okanagan Rustic Furniture” written across the back window.
If you see this vehicle, do not approach it but call 911 immediately.
Teneycke is believed to be the suspect and considered to be extremely dangerous and may be armed.
The RCMP is asking that the media and public please honor our request that you do not disclose the movements of police through social media during any active search for this fugitive.
