PENTICTON – The recovery of a vehicle believed to be owned by a repeat offender wanted by police sparked a manhunt near Oliver this morning.
RCMP Cpl. Dave Tyreman says Oliver police discovered the pickup believed to have been driven by Ronald Teneycke, wanted for failing to appear for a conditional jail sentence two weeks ago, and suspected in an armed robbery in Oliver last week.
The pickup was discovered on Mount Baldy Road east of Oliver last night. Because Teneycke is alleged to have recently committed armed robbery, the RCMP emergency response team was called in to initiate a ground search.
