RDOS APC Area C met Tuesday in Oliver

Development Application – Temporary Use Permit TUP – 166 Sundial Rd (Vaseux Lake)

APC recommends to the RDOS board approval for the operation of a short term vacation rental for the months of April to October (expires in 2016) for a home pictured above for a maximum of 10 patrons in five bedrooms. The surrounding development is of low density residential parcels with four tourist commercial to the east on Sundial. All fronting the lake. Eight parking spaces are provided. The home has a relatively new state of the art septic system. The house has a hedge for one neighbor side and a road access to the water on the other.

Development Application – To amending zoning from commercial to small holdings residential – 5643 Highway 97 South of Oliver – east side. The application formalize existing use of single family home with large workshop (new construction). The property to the north of the Maple Leaf Motel and campsite. It used to be owned by same owner but campsite was a separate parcel and sold.

APC recommends to the RDOS board approval of zoning charge for owners Richard and Carol Lawton – existing home built in 1961 – workshop in 2013. It is in ALR but less than 2 acres. The action would see Tourist Commercial One (CT1) to Small Holdings Five (SH5).

This was the first formal meeting of the APC since the last municipal election.
