This is hard and don’t be fooled by the green
Think in threes
I have a “What is it” for the gardeners in our area. – Carolyn Tipler
Will share it with you. It is called the Three Sisters. Origin: The Iroquois is one of many native tribes who grew this combination of Corn, beans and Squash. They have a natural symbiosis and provide both fresh veg and veg that can be dried and stored. Corn can also be made into flour, beans too for that matter and the squash will last for six months as a staple food. As you can see the corn provides a natural “pole” for the beans to climb up and the squash provides ground cover to conserve moisture. Each gives and takes different things from the soil – common sense or an inbred knowledge of how plants need each other, likely a combination of both, anyway they knew what they were doing.
