Celebration
On July 1 we’ll be celebrating the 148th anniversary of the formation of Canada. It’s good to celebrate that. Even though we would be considered a youngster on the world scene I believe we are one of the best countries to live in. We are very fortunate!
Do the angels and God ever celebrate anything? It doesn’t take long to realize that they certainly have and will continue to do so. According to Job 38:4-7 and Psalm 8 they celebrated the creation of the universe.
Ours is an incredibly marvelous and complex planet. The 15th chapter of Luke tells us that the angels have a party when someone turns to the Lord in repentance. It is cause for rejoicing. A huge choir of angels announced the birth of Jesus in Bethlehem according to Luke 2. No other baby has equalled that welcome even though each one has been very special. It was also angels who made a point of showing up at the empty tomb of Jesus on the morning of His resurrection. We are told in the New Testament that without the resurrection of Christ our faith is in vain. They were undoubtedly exuberant about this astounding event. We have lots of reasons to celebrate along with them.
