After reading all the comments on the ODN about Lions Park, I decided to go there and see what was going on myself. As I walked around, there were open cans of beer in the open opened cases just sitting there, dogs off leashes, the smell of skunk (we know what that was, not skunk) I started walking right up to the people with the cans visable and told them there was no drinking or pot smoking in the park. Some of my answers were we are quiet and minding our own business after work, everyone drinks in the park, stop them and I will stop?
Some argued with me, most were respectful, but kept drinking. I was told that the Police had been there just before I came and they did nothing, so what did I think I could do. One of our locals was there with a can of beer in his hand and told me that they drink there all the time. I also found out that the benches were broken by a local called Brian, he did it because he could. Isn’t that nice.
Talking about Lions Park is not going to do a thing, making a by-law about 25 in a group is not going to do anything as most of them are in 10-20 in a group all over the park. What I see is there is no one that upholds our laws or by-laws, there has to be more people that care enough to go to the park and walk around talking to the offenders. There were about 6 last night that actually left the park because they didn’t want to listen to me any more. I had my camera, but I was told by some of them they could sue me if I took there pictures unwillingly. I wasn’t sure about that so I just took pictures of the beer cans and cases.
I am going out again tonight around 6pm. I legally can’t do anything but they sure didn’t like me being there in their faces.
How come we look after some out of Canada workers, but not our own Canadians, but then our Government has been doing the same thing to us Canadians.
