Oliver ‘s Warren Brown carried away two first-place trophies at Sunday’s drag race at Richter Pass Motorplex.

The Wine Country Racing Association (WCRA) put on their third drag race of the 2015 season. This event marks the half-way point for the club and winds up the spring competition.
Due to technical difficulties, the June 7 finals weren’t completed until June 21, 2015. The winners are as follows:
Sportsmen’s Bracket:
Wade Reimer from Summerland, BC (’97 Ford van) took the trophy by defeating Osoyoos, BC’s Bailie Ericson (’03 Infinity).
Pro Bracket:
Tonasket, WA resident Paul Lewis (’84 Corvette) won his bracket by default. His opponent was not present for the final round.
Super Pro:
Brad Heppner (’89 Ed Quay dragster) drove a long way from Sicamouse, BC. He managed to drive past Lorne Pearson (Grand Forks, BC) in his ’86 Chevrolet S-10 truck.
Bike/sled:
Oliver, BC’s Warren Brown (’02 Kawasaki) won by default. His opponent was not present for the final round of elimination.
June 21, 2015 winners:
Sportsmen’s Bracket:
A Ford Mustang shoot-out took Penticton, BC’s Owen Fairweather to the winners’ circle over Osoyoos’ Tim Hiebert.
Pro Bracket:
Cliff Meeds’ debut in the Pro Bracket took him and his ‘49 Ford Truck to victory over Shana Cachola and her ’72 Nova. Both participants are from Oliver, BC.
Super Pro:
Oliver’s Chip Sabyan (’84 Oldsmobile) drove past Oroville, WA’s Ernie Bartelson (’51 Chevrolet).
Bike/sled:
Warren Brown, of Oliver (’02 Kawasaki) stayed on top of victory mountain, beating Summerland’s David Lee Madson (’03 Arctic Cat).
