Park Rill Community Birding Tour
Oliver, BC – Join Okanagan Similkameen Stewardship Sunday June 28 at 9 am at the International Hike and Bike Trail on the north side of Park Rill Creek where it flows into Okanagan River. Local birder and biologist Kirk Safford will be help us identify birds in the neighbourhood and provide tips on birding.
The tour will also be an opportunity to learn about citizen science. It might sound scary, but if you already like birds, you are on your way to being a citizen scientist! We will show you simple ways to contribute your knowledge through programs like FeederWatch and NestWatch and how to add bird boxes to your property too!
Please dress for the weather and bring water and snacks. You are welcome to bring your binoculars, tablet or phones with birding apps, bird guides or cameras if you have them, but they are not necessary.
Okanagan Similkameen Stewardship (OSS) is a local grassroots organization, working cooperatively with local residents and organizations to promote voluntary stewardship, conservation and restoration of important habitats for wildlife on private lands and within communities of the Okanagan and Similkameen valleys.
