It was about 1974 – a young American girl* appeared on the Vancouver scene looking for a job in TV. Then BCTV news director Cameron Bell – said to Pamela Martin – you need some grounding.
She was sent to CKNW and left in the hands of news director Warren Barker who sent her out “on the beat” – with me.. She learned the basics fast and before long hired for on air reporting and anchor work.
She now works with Premier Christy Clark. She is the mother of 2 children.
Jack was a broadcast journalist for 15 years with most of his time spent at the CBC, CJOR and CKNW (the industry leader). He also taught classes at Langara College to budding TV and radio reporters.
