The death of a woman last June in Sawmill Lake near Oliver has been deemed accidental.
According to a coroner’s report for Grace Marie Capot-Blanc, 54, the immediate cause of death was drowning.
Alcohol consumption also contributed to her death.
Capot-Blanc was discovered floating face down in the lake on June 7, 2014.
She had been camping with her spouse and another couple at the location. Alcohol was consumed, according to the report, and there was a verbal dispute between the woman and her spouse.
Nearby campers later heard a female shouting for help and then a splash in the lake. A camper called 911 to report the incident to police.
It was initially treated as a suspicious death, but police ruled out foul play and concluded the investigation as an accidental drowning incident.
