The first Back Alley Concert of the Series last Saturday was a hit!
Tiger Moon absolutely dazzled us with their foot-stompin’ “Free Folk Rock”, performing from a new and improved stage location, compared to our previous concerts. Covert Farms Family Estate Winery served us delicious wines from their organic vineyards, and Dubh Glas Distillery mixed up some ultra-refreshing cocktails with their new Noteworthy Gin. We punched open a cask of our Smoked-Hop Calamity Stout which, despite being too smoky for some, rather impressed us, if we may say so ourselves. We also poured our newest beer to join the permanent Firehall line-up: Hoser Lite – a light and crisp lager-style ale that we brewed with 100% BC-grown ingredients (quite rare actually), designed for maximum hydration. The weather was warm so the hydration was needed. The Fibre Broads wowed us with what they can do with wool and other textile fibres, decorating our Captain’s Room with colourful creations. They enjoyed Tiger Moon’s music while knitting on our comfy red couch :) Overall, we much enjoyed ourselves, and judging by the smiles leaving the Back Alley at the end, we weren’t the only ones. A particularly handsome crew of young folk wandered up to Pappa’s Firehall Bistro after the show for 2-for-1 appies (food special available 6 days a week after 8pm) and drinks, including gin & tonics with Dubh Glas Distillery’s Noteworthy Gin. The next show on July 18th with musician Devon Coyote is going to be a big one, so get your tickets in advance at Pappa’s Firehall Bistro. See you there, and bring a thirst to extinguish ;) CHEERS!
