On June 9th, 2015, at approximately 3:00 pm the Oliver RCMP attended a single vehicle motorcycle collision in the 7600 block of Highway 97,Oliver, BC.

A lone witness at the scene advised police that the motorcyclist tried to avoid a deer and in doing so, went off road striking a utility pole. The male was conscious, on the scene and was treated by BC Ambulance.  The male was transported to South Okanagan General Hospital in Oliver, BC for further examination.

Later in the evening the male succumbed to his injuries. The deceased is a 64 year old Osoyoos resident. Speed and alcohol are not factors in this collision.

The BC Coroner Service and South Okanagan Traffic Services are investigating the matter and no further details will be released.
