Police are continuing to investigate the death of a 16-year-old girl who died after being struck by a motorhome just north of downtown Oliver on Thursday.
Sergeant Harold Hallett from South Okanagan Traffic Services reported that the girl crossed Highway 97 in front of the motorhome that was travelling south in the late afternoon.
“The motorhome attempted to avoid the pedestrian but was unsuccessful. The pedestrian was transported to South Okanagan General Hospital in Oliver where she was pronounced deceased,” Hallett said.
The officer said no charges are anticipated.
Mya Daylene Goddard, 16, was attempting to cross Highway 97 on the afternoon of June 4 when struck.
