Last evening, June 4 about 8:45 a major structure fire at Owen’s Meat Packing on Hwy 97 near Ellisforde.

Near Oroville Washington

Initial reports stated it was a large smoker on fire that had possibly spread to the building. Upon our arrival there was heavy smoke and fire throughout most of the shop. Unfortunately, the shop is a total loss. We were able to keep the fire from spreading to an adjacent building and a house. All units were able to leave the scene by 1:15 a.m. this morning. A big thanks to Oroville Fire Dept., Omak Fire Dept., Tonasket Ambulance, Okanogan County Public Works, and the Okanogan County Sheriff’s Office for their help.
