Peachland Hwy 97 crash – pictured above
One report indicates that the man who was killed lived in the South Okanagan. RCMP and coroner’s service will release the names once next of kin notified.
On June 4, 2015 at 9:02 am, the West Kelowna RCMP responded to a report of a motor vehicle crash on Highway 97 near Brent Road in Peachland. Police discovered a Toyota had allegedly collided head on with a tractor trailer unit.
The male driver of the Toyota is deceased and the female passenger was transported to Kelowna General Hospital in serious condition. The male driver of the tractor trailer unit was uninjured.
The highway was closed for several hours and traffic was diverted while an RCMP Traffic Reconstructionist conducted a detailed scene analysis.
RCMP South East District Traffic Services and Reconstructionist Services continue to assist the BC Coroners Service in the investigation.
