Mutton told the large audience at the air cadet hangar in Oliver that the 23,000 members of the Canadian Air Cadets receive good and useful training. He stated that most pilots in the Canadian Forces and commercial airlines have an association with glider experience and the air cadet programme.

Mayor Ron Hovanes told the cadets to dream big. “You look spiffy and look like you really know what you are doing.”
