On February 2 the Society celebrated its 20th year of incorporation with first directors of the society Janet Shaw, Jack Frank, Roger McKay, John Echlin and John McCarthy.

The real winners – the graduating students from SOSS that are awarded scholarships to further post-secondary education.

This year the society has committed a total of $17,000 to more than 20 students.

Echlin says the Society has $500 thousand in assets managed by the Vancouver Foundation.
