Mat Hassen, President:

“We are disappointed with a further delay and have concerns about negative effects on our project”

This in reaction to a decision by the RDOS to extend a lease to Home Building Centre in Osoyoos until 2020.

Hassen states the fund raising efforts have been dealt a blow – all printed material must be re-done and the credibility of the organization has been adversely affected. Grant requests would have to be delayed as the window of construction is placed at 5 or more years in the future.

The Museum Society President also writes in his letter to the Regional District that the OMS does not own the land or building now purchased making it even more difficult to raise funding. He states fund raising efforts have been ongoing for 7 years.

The museum society requests a direct liaison with the “Joint Service” (Town of Osoyoos + Area A) to avoid further miscommunication and misunderstandings.
