This car took out a telephone/cable pole near Wilcox corner – wires down – Emergency services called at 10:58 am Friday. Driver didn’t want to talk to police and left scene according to one report.

Driver needed to be extricated by Fire Department due to the nature of the damage to the car. The driver’s door seen separate from the vehicle.
The roadway incidents 200 metres apart, about eight kilometres north of Oliver.
The first was a northbound compact Ford Escort hit a power pole and went into the ditch.
4 hours later when the pole was still being worked on and the Escort still in the ditch a Subaru wagon pulled out of a driveway east of first accident scene and was struck by an oncoming pickup.
The female driver of the Subaru was taken to Penticton Regional Hospital serious injuries, according to RCMP Sgt. Blaine Gervais. Traffic resume about 5:15 pm
