The Trans-Canada Trail and Kettle Valley Rail Trail between Princeton and Coalmont was closed to all users this week.
The rockfall occurred approximately 10 kilometres west of Princeton (at the 125-kilometre mark of the KVR). The trail is impassable and unsafe for recreational use.
Recreation Sites and Trails BC is working with the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen and the Vermillion Trails Society to repair and re-open the trail.
The trail will be re-opened as soon as it is safe to do so. Repairs are scheduled to take place this summer. RSTBC manages the trail through a partnership agreement with the RDOS.
