Okanagan Similkameen Stewardship (OSS) is strengthening its stewardship initiatives with the Park Rill Community, in northwest Oliver, and wants to hear from you.
“OSS has been working in the Park Rill neighbourhood since 1998, helping property owners learn more about nature in their backyards”, says Alyson Skinner, OSS Executive Director, “and we would like to learn more about the interests of local residents”.
OSS is a local grassroots organization, working cooperatively with local residents and organizations to promote voluntary stewardship, conservation and restoration of important habitats for wildlife on private lands and within communities of the Okanagan and Similkameen valleys. OSS has developed a confidential, voluntary survey for property owners to help guide future stewardship activities in the Park Rill neighbourhood.
“Most residents will have received a copy of the survey in their mail box in the last week, but we don’t want to miss anyone” noted Jillian Tamblyn, project coordinator. “We invite any people in the neighbourhood that did not receive the paper survey, or who would like other options for completing the survey, to fill out the survey online or give us a call to arrange to do one over the phone or in person.”
Based on the surveys the OSS team will be offering activities and resources for residents who are interested in learning more about stewardship.
