From the pages of the 1945 – 46 S.O.U. Beacon Annual regarding the band trip to New Westminster. “After a fine banquet, Mr. McKinley took his band members to the station CKNW where they had the thrill of playing half an hour over the air. Comments from the listeners were very favourable.”
