Directors at the Regional District have struggled with this idea for many years with some member districts, city and townshaving such staff presently and in the past.

After a wide ranging discussion today in Penticton – no direct action will be taken to hire more regional district staff as most are uneasy with budget implications.

CAO Bill Newell states that the RDOS operates an Enterprise Centre offering planning, GIS and other services and is willing to take on projects if the demand is there from member municipalities.
