A bail hearing for two persons charged in connection with the death of 26 year Roxanne Louie concluded today.
That hearing in Penticton Law Courts before Vancouver BC Supreme Court Justice Patrice Abrioux
Grace Robotti, 65, of Penticton is charged with second-degree murder, while Pier Robotti, 61, her brother of Naramata has been charged with being an accessory after the fact and interference with a body.
A courtroom filled with Louie supporters heard details regarding the incident in January.
Each of the Robotti’s will have to post a $25000 surety on their release Friday. Both are in provincial holding jails elsewhere in the province.
A no contact order was also issued.
During the show cause hearing native drums and chanting could be heard in the court room. One relative stated outside the hearing room – that no one was actually representing the side of the victim. Spokespersons for the native family were not happy with the decision of the court.
Laurie Wilson stated the victim and native women have been marginalized and this case proves it with the police and press not taking the search for a missing person seriously after being alerted by family.

Louie, a 26-year-old single mother and Osoyoos Indian Band member, was reported missing in early January after failing to show up at Penticton Regional Airport for a flight back to Vancouver.
A search ended with the discovery of her body in the Naramata area January 12. The siblings Grace and Pier Robotti had turned themselves into police the day before.
A ban on publication is still in effect so that evidence and arguement heard in the bailing hearing cannot be released to the public other than a court order.
