SOSS Hornets fail to get a berth in the provincials after 2 straight losses in the Valley
run-off held at Kamloops this weekend.
“The win streak will have to wait until next year.
The SOSS senior Hornets who have been hampered by inconsistent play all year were unable to muster the spirit necessary to win in a crucial game as they lost to team a they had beaten earlier in the season by 20 points.
Coming off a tough loss to Vernon’s Fulton in the semis last night the Hornets were in a must win game against Westsyde, to have any chance of making the provincials for the eighth straight year. SOSS had to win their …next two games and then hope for Fulton to win so that they would have the right to challenge the loser of the final. They fell badly 65-44.
The Hornets are graduating 7 seniors and I would like to thank them for their commitment and effort Austin Basso, – Brett Harrington* – Blake Miller-Yuckin, Raj Bahniwal, Karn Mann, Anmol Malhi, Jasdeep Sandhu, and Sukh Mann.
The team wishes you much success in your future endeavours. To the returning players, learn from this experience and strive to get back to the winning form necessary to make a mark at provincials.”
Editor’s Note – a well earned rest for Mo – time for family, friends and just lazin’ about.
