
The sole survivor of a shooting near Princeton will testify in a double-murder trial that opened today in B.C. Supreme Court.
Bradley Martin took a bullet to his chest but was able to escape the shooting scene on Old Hedley Road where Robert Keith Wharton, 43, and Rosemary Fox, 32, died almost two years ago.
John Ike Koopmans is facing two counts of first-degree murder in connection with the the deaths of Wharton and Fox and one count of attempt murder.
Crown counsel Frank Dubenski stated in his operning remarks – that on March 30, 2013, the couple were killed by a gunman on a rural property at 331 Old Hedley Rd – outside Princeton.
On that date, Bradley Martin, the surviving victim, was watching TV in the living room of Wharton’s home, when Koopmans arrived unexpectedly.
The trial at Penticton will continue for some weeks
