Remember that Rocking Horse Raffle Ticket you bought from the Osoyoos Soroptimists in December?

The Osoyoos Soroptimists provide additional support to the Safe House with a Back Packs Program for the women who are about to embark on a new life. Soroptimists fill these back packs with everyday useful items like tooth brush and toothpaste, hand soap and lotion, a pen and note-pad, and many other items. Like the other Soroptimist projects, the success relies on the generosity of local businesses who donate many of the needed items. If the project needs a little boost, the Soroptimists themselves provide the items to complete the packs.
Presenting the cheque to Sandy Summers, are two of the dedicated Soroptimist Rocking Horse Ticket Sellers, (left) Heide Wright and (right) Doris Walton. “We look forward to selling the raffle tickets,” says Doris Walton, “because it’s an opportunity for both of us to see so many of our ‘Rocking Horse Friends’”
The Osoyoos Soroptimist Annual Rocking Horse Raffle received recognition from the Western Canada Region of Soroptimist International, as a project that reflects the dedication of the club since the raffle was introduced 27 years ago, and the respect it enjoys within the communities it serves.
