The SOSS Hornets were able to gut out a win tonight in the annual “shoe game”.

With the potential of losing the shoe for the first time in 9 years the Hornets seemed to find their way as the started to play with passion, energy and like a team as they out scored the Penticton Lakers 26-8 in the 4th, allowing them to win the shoe for the 10th year in a row 52-40.

The Hornets have now won 11 of their last 12 games posting a record of 22 -13 overall. Even though it was not pretty the hornets have been finding ways to win and this is going to bode well as they head to the valleys next weekend.

Raj Bahniwal scored 24, Kulbir Grewal added 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds. Austin Basso added 8 points and 6 boards and even though Blake Miller Yuckin scored only 1 point he pulled down 11 boards. The team is hoping that the injury to Gurshan Dhaliwal will mend by next week as they will need everyone firing on all cylinders as they try to reach their 7th valley championship final in 8 years.
