
A show cause hearing held Wednesday and Thursday at the Penticton Law Courts before Judge Meg Shaw.
Gregory Stanley Nield, 31, of Summerland charged with assault causing bodily harm and aggravated assault after an incident at the psychiatric ward at Penticton Regional hospital Friday December 5th, 2014.
Nield, a married man with one child was employed as a registered massage therapist with a background in jiu-jitsu.
Nield has been in custody about 2 and a half months and appeared via video from Kamloops jail Wednesday.
Judge Shaw ordered that he be transported to Penticton so that he would hear the release order in person today.
Judge Shaw also ordered a ban on publication on any submissions given to the court and outlined what could be released to the public. There were 11 conditions to his bail release which included a $50,000 suriety.
