The Summerland RCMP seized thousands of marijuana plants from a sophisticated grow operation Tuesday.

According to Sgt. Stephane Lacroix, officers executed a search warrant on a residence in the 11000 block of Sinclair Road and seized 20 thousand plants* along with grow equipment and drug paraphernalia.

There were no valid permits or authority for legal production associated with the residence.

RCMP have arrested a 33-year-old man and a woman, in her mid-20s, who were at the location at the time of the search.

Two young children were also found, and the Ministry of Children and Family Development was contacted.
