Agriculture Minister Norm Letnick in town today to do a round table with local farmers and leaders of the the BCFGA.
Spokesperson for the farm group, David Machial (standing far left) says local valley MLA’s very supportive of the industry and that has resulted in the most recent replant program announcement.
Machial states it was a really good opportunity to hear from Minister Letnick and for farmers to address their strategic plan which is set to be released at the end of March. The plan designed for a 5-10 year window.
He says the minister was interested in hearing about export opportunities for local growers.
The meeting attended by BCFGA leadership, Fred Steele, Pinder Dhaliwal and manager Glen Lucas.
