The RDOS board voted 17-1 in favour of the 2015 Budget bylaw – a first reading

Total Draft RDOS 2015 Operating Budget $27,201, 920
vs 2014 27,794,775 – yes that is down.
But looking at the following:
CITY OF PENTICTON 1,591,140 UP $177,063 average cost per home $75
TOWN OF OLIVER 1,097,502 UP $104,826 average cost per home $360
OLIVER ELECTORAL AREA C 1,465,176 UP $103,755 average cost per home $529
TOWN OF OSOYOOS 737,248 UP $37,657 average cost per home $147*
OSOYOOS ELECTORAL AREA A 997,383 UP $26,325 average cost per home $524
That’s just operating – There is capital budget of $9,856,000. There is borrowing for all municipalities and finally a regional hospital district budget.

Notes of interest – Rural areas in RDOS pay $816,000 for library service to the ORL – in addition to municipal (towns and villages) revenue.
General government costs at the RDOS $2,395,000 up this year by 20 percent.
RDOS building will be upgraded at a cost of $436,000.
