Princess Margaret 41 – home team 41 (first place in their league)

In a game that the Hornets needed to win by 7 SOSS did it as they won by 13, 54-41 in a very high intensity low scoring affair.

Both teams battled hard in the first half but the Hornets went into the locker room up by 8. They were able to extend that lead by 1 point in the 3rd as they went into the 4th quarter up by 9, 36-27. The Hornets sealed the deal as they won the 4th quarter, on great team work intelligent ball movement and a no quit attitude, which is something they have been missing all year. In winning the game the Hornets are now in 1st place in league with a record of 3-1. The team got solid play from the starters as Raj Bahniwal led the team with 13 points, Austin Basso 12 and Gurshan Dhaliwal 11. Blake Miller Yuckin and Kulbir Grewal both added 8 points. The team got solid bench play from the likes of Brett Harrington and big man Jamie Fortune. All in all another positive step for the Hornets as they never lost a quarter and their downs were minimal, a much better level approach.

Our next game is Saturday at 4:30 versus Osoyoos. Come out and cheer the Hornets on to victory. The team now has a record of 15-12.
