Helen Irlen, the psychologist who discovered Irlen Syndrome, a visual perception disorder 30 years ago, was interviewed on the Doctors Programme today. This may be of interest to adults and children who have reading difficulties, migraines and headaches, light sensitivity, and ADHD. 12% of the general population, 50% of those with autism spectrum disorder suffer from the symptoms.
Since it is a genetic issue, all of these people have suffered through their lives, thinking that everyone else perceives the world the same way as them. Many have been labeled as “dumb, stupid or lazy”. Nothing could be further from the truth.
Helen will show how the symptoms can be resolved with the use of coloured overlays or coloured spectral tints in glasses.
