The liquor laws in BC. Compared to the rest of the world we are in the dark ages. There is a glimmer of hope however.
In the 60’s New Zealand was in the 1940’s. The only “grass” grown there was for cows and sheep. By the time I arrived in Canada in 1975 I was way too sensible, so the answer is no on both counts.
We have an all electric house. By taking advantage of the fed’s money a couple of years ago, we just nudge into the second tier over the winter. I lobbied for time of use metering at the hearings, but was ignored. Under the guise of conservation, two tiered metering was foisted on Fortis. What is really at the heart of the matter is encouraging a redistribution of power consumption over the day. No problem for me to put my dishwasher on at 11pm at night, or recharge all my computers etc. Bring on solar pv and provide us with a decent tarriff feedback price.
Oil companies are supranational entities. They are quick to make money on both ends of the stick. We need a few more rogue players in the game to see us benefit on a continued basis. Congrats to TESLA motors for providing all the patents for their electic car…… Hmmm, have I heard this story before?
I DO. Those were the two words uttered 41 years ago. Enough said
Free trade was designed to safeguard the interests of the mulitnationals and those with political clout. So much for free trade and softwood lumber. That cost us untold millions. Everyone is trying to protect their patch of turf. We now live in a world with far greater access to information!! So now, even the lowest man on the totem pole can see what it going on and make his own free trade decisions.
We are fortunate living in close proximity to the border. We have a choice. We can march with our wallets or support local initiatives. Yes for gas, no for organics foods. Don’t like the fact that there are too many gun totting people running around there.
Only when I don’t clean up the dead flies from the window box that I swatted. Put it on the “honey due” list.
So long as we have something to cheer about – that is great. I would prefer an amateur team, the canucks and lions are supporting someone’s egos.
What commercials? With a PVR they are old hat. They were always too loud anyway. Satellite debris shows the best anyway. Give me pick and pay. There is wayyyy too much junk and irrelevant (to me) stuff taking up bandwidth.
I am a CBC fan so the other media in these areas aren’t on my radar screen. If I want the local news, I tune to ODN, it tunes me into all the local and relevant news.
Great improvement and adaptable for my tablet and phone. Kudos to Laurena. Still liked the way you could just scroll through all the ads for sale until you caught up with the older ones you had previously seen.
For 31 years in the classroom, I was always addressed as “sir”. Enough said. I am holding onto that recognition!
Smoking. ugh. A death sentence. Every effort should be made to facilitate these people saving money and their lives.
So pleased to see that we regained Panorama for the name of our crescent.
A committee actually acknowledged our petition.
There are no stupid questions. As Einstein said, the object to make two questions grow, where only one existed before.
