Residents throughout the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen have a new way to get information regarding curb-side garbage and recycling.

A newly launched web service allows anyone to type in their home address to access information on garbage and recycling services specific to their property.

Each municipality and rural area within the RDOS has slightly different garbage and recycling programs including separate collection days and modified services.

RDOS Chair Mark Pendergraft feels simplifying how people get government information helps residents.

“I know there have been a few evenings I’ve wondered if it is a recycling week or when the landfill closes,” he said. “Simplifying how people get information saves time and helps people place out the right stuff.’
