Ice the police dog captures unarmed man in Kelowna

Bank robbery suspect in custody.  A 20-year-old New Brunswick man faces charges of Robbery and Disguise with Intent after a bank was robbed Thursday.

RCMP responded to a report of a robbery at the Scotia Bank located at 1835 Dilworth Drive. A few minutes prior, a masked, lone male suspect wearing dark clothes had entered the location and demanded money from a teller. The suspect then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.
No weapon was produced and no one was injured in the incident.
K9  dog ‘Ice’ was quickly able to establish a track east on Durnin Road and lead to a nearby apartment building where the suspect was found hiding on a  lower balcony.
The stolen cash was recovered.

GOVERNMENT HOUSE FOUNDATION

Lieutenant Governor launches new environmental stewardship program for
youth

VICTORIA – The Honourable Judith Guichon, Lieutenant Governor of British
Columbia, supported by the Government House Foundation, has launched a
new program to promote stewardship and environmental awareness among
youth.

Stewards of the Future supports and encourages emerging leaders to
connect with their environments and explore their own communities to
discover and document unique attributes, identify and research key issues
of concern, and investigate stewardship initiatives. It promotes the
concept of a holistic approach to our endeavors based on respect,
relationships and the responsibility of all for the future. Funding and
support are available for youth to go on field trips, visit local sites
of interest and engage in stewardship projects in their communities.

Will be meeting a group of students on the subject of the environment on Monday.

When asked what the photo was about – Interior Health said it was a photo op. A Penticton reporter called one of the participants and said “what’s new?”. The response – it was a nice sign so time for a “thumbs up”

Interior Health  even misnamed the regional district doing the funding.
