The sentencing date has been set for an Osoyoos Indian Band member who pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the stabbing death of his younger brother.
Sentencing proceedings for Kyle Louie, slated to last a day or possibly longer, will begin Jan. 21 in a Penticton courtroom.
Louie pled guilty in March to manslaughter after his brother Reece Louie, 20, was stabbed to death on the reserve almost 4 years ago.
He was previously charged with second degree murder in the death.
On Feb. 19, 2011, police arrived at the residence on Black Sage Road and found Reece Louie lying outside the residence bleeding and suffering from serious injuries.
Kyle Louie was arrested that evening in Oliver and charged with aggravated assault, which was later upgraded to murder when the victim died, according to earlier RCMP reports.
