G.W. Graham SS (Grizzlies) win 81 – 74 over SOSS Hornets in Chilliwack
Coach Basso:
Was there a lid on the Hornets nets last night, because it sure seemed that way at least until the last 4 min. of the game. SOSS shot an abysmal 23% from the field yesterday as they missed open lay ups and wide open 3s, they only hit 6 of 23. The only bright spot came late in the 4th as the Hornets made the game interesting, cutting a 21 point lead down to 4 with 15 seconds to go but that is as close as they got losing 81-74.
Gurshan Dhaliwal led the team with 19 points, Gurshan played well all weekend, and showing big improvements in scoring and on court leadership. Austin Basso had 15 on 11 of 12 shooting from the foul line, this was not his best game shooting but he did have a very good tournament averaging 22 ppg, being named tournament all star.
Blake Miller Yuckin is starting to show signs of good play as he had 12 points hitting 2 big 3’s late an earning player of the game honour.
Kulbir Grewal was also named to the all star team. The Hornets play Monday night at home against Summerland, and then they are off to Hawaii to play 5 games.
Go Hornets Go !!
