Lately the Oliver Detachment has been seeing a marked increase in the number of Voice Mail messages left overnight and/or weekends on files / complaints that could have been actioned by either an on shift or an on call investigator. This anomaly is likely due to a belief that our Voice Mail is monitored regularly. This in fact is not the case.
These Voice Mail messages are not reviewed except during normal office hours when our office staff is working. If you receive a recorded message, please stay on the line and wait for our Dispatchers out of Kelowna to take your call and ultimately determine if a police officer will be dispatched. Even though it is common knowledge that the Oliver Detachment is not a 24 hour service, we always have a police officer on call. If your call is an emergency please hang up and dial 911 per the recorded message.
As always, if you have any concerns with our service delivery please feel free to contact the Detachment Commander Sgt Ken HARRINGTON directly.
Thanks in advance for your support,
Sgt. Ken Harrington
