October 2014 Year-to-Date Financial Report
Finance & Facilities Committee reviewed the October 2014 year-to-date financial report.
THAT the October 2014 year-to-date financial report be received. Statement of Financial Information (SOFI) Finance & Facilities Committee reviewed the Statement of Financial Information report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2014 – Highlights – 7 Trustees compensated at a cost of $83,339 with expenses of $31,675. Total expense for other labour $16,584,000. THAT the Statement of Financial Information for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2014 report be approved.
October 2014 Enrolment Report -Highlight Student FTE down 56 pupils (primary, elementary and secondary) – September 2013 to October 2014.
Finance & Facilities Committee received updated enrolment numbers to date.

Finance & Facilities Committee received a report from the BCPSEA Symposium attended by Trustee Zandee.
Report from BCSTA Provincial Council Finance & Facilities Committee received a report from the BCSTA Provincial Council meetings attended by Trustee Harrington.

Rescheduling the TIM Early Release Day from September 2014Education Committee received a report on rescheduling TIM time which was postponed due to instructional time lost during the strike. It was recommended that this item be forwarded to the next regular Board of Education meeting for information.

Professional Development Proposal Update – Education Committee received an update from Tracy Harrington, Sylvia Slater and Nikki MacNaughton regarding the professional development (pro-d) proposal by SOSTU.
Middle Years Development Instrument (MDI) Update – cation Committee received an update regarding training and orientation.
MyEducation BC Update Education Committee received a report regarding the schedule for converting to MyEducationBC. Primary Assessment – New Protocols for PM BenchmarksEducation Committee was advised that the primary assessment review is completed for now and acknowledged School District No. 73 (Kamloops Thompson) for allowing the use of their PM materials.

Report from BCSTA Education Committee – Education Committee received a report from Trustee Edwards who attended the BCSTA Education Committee last month in Vancouver.
