Traffic controlled at two intersections immediately after accident.

An accident investigator would be required due to the nature of the incident.

One source who works in the area stated the victim was an elderly lady with a walker. He stated he heard a loud bang and went to investigate. A number of drivers in the area stopped to provide assistance. One report indicates the female victim was in a legal cross walk but it was dark and rainy.

Local RCMP confirmed this morning that the SO Traffic Services will take over the investigation.

ODN has decided not to utilize pictures taken at the scene early this morning.

Traffic has been affected for almost five hours.
